Job Requirements

Step into one of the most dynamic and high-acuity trauma environments in the country. The R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Orthopaedic Trauma team.

This is an opportunity to practice at the forefront of trauma care—supporting patients from the moment of admission through recovery and discharge. As part of a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional, life-changing care to patients with complex orthopaedic injuries from across Maryland and beyond.

In this role, you’ll work side-by-side with leading trauma and orthopaedic specialists in an environment where every day brings meaningful impact, clinical challenge, and professional growth.

Primary?Responsibilities:

  • Interview patients for health history and perform physical examination
  • Order and evaluate appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests
  • Document H & P, progress notes, and treatment plans
  • Act as liaison between patients and physicians to coordinate recommended?patient care as well as?pre- and post-operative care.
  • Caring for patients in both the clinic and hospital setting.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement meetings

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license for the State of Maryland
