What You’ll Do
- Provide urgent care services to a diverse patient population, from birth to death
- Perform procedures including suturing, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, and minor burn management
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as X-rays, EKGs, rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, and urinalysis
- Manage nosebleeds with anterior nasal packing or cautery, cerumen impaction removal
- Support airway management with nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization
- Document all patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR system
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals in a fast-paced outpatient environment
What You Need
Required:
- Valid Physician Assistant license in Virginia
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
- 1+ years of urgent care or outpatient clinical experience
- Proficiency in suturing, I&D, minor procedures, and diagnostic testing
Preferred:
- ACLS certification
- Experience with Epic EMR
About the Assignment
This assignment is with a leading outpatient clinic network in Richmond, VA, providing episodic urgent care services for a wide patient demographic. Providers will see approximately 25 to 50 patients daily, varying by season and clinic volume, with higher patient flow expected during cold and flu seasons. The role involves performing a range of urgent care procedures and managing patient flow efficiently.
