• Shift: 7 days/week, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (12+ hour shifts)
• Hours/Week: 36 hours (3 shifts per week)
• Employment Type: Locum (with potential for perm)
• Licensure/Certs: Virginia NP license preferred; BLS required
• Experience: Previous Urgent Care or Emergency setting experience preferred

What You’ll Do:

• Perform episodic outpatient urgent care assessments and treatments
• Manage a patient volume of 25-50 patients per day, varying by location and season
• Conduct procedures such as suturing, incision & drainage, splinting, and joint reductions
• Interpret diagnostic tests including X-rays and electrocardiograms
• Provide minor burn care, foreign body removal, and airway support
• Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR
• Deliver high-quality care to diverse patient populations and handle higher acuity cases with appropriate referral

What You Need:

• Active Virginia Nurse Practitioner license
• Minimum of 1-2 years of urgent care or emergency medicine experience
• Strong skills in suturing, I&D, x-ray interpretation, and emergency stabilization
• Excellent communication and assessment skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
