What You’ll Do
- Manage post-operative care for thoracic surgery patients, including chest tube and drain management
- Perform procedures such as ABG analysis, NGT, G & J feeding tube placement as needed
- Monitor and treat adult and geriatric patients in ICU, step-down units, and post-op floors
- Collaborate with a fellow provider and interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care
- Respond as a first responder during code situations when needed
- Review incoming transfers, conduct histories, and physical exams for newly admitted patients
- Document patient encounters accurately using Epic EMR
What You Need
- NCCPA Board Certification
- Active Massachusetts Physician Assistant License (or willing to apply)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- DEA license needed
- Minimum of 1 year experience in thoracic surgery or ICU/Post-Op care
- Ability to work independently with strong clinical judgment and communication skills
