NP/PA Cardiac Surgery Intermediate Unit Opportunity in Greenville, NC

ECU Health Physicians and The East Carolina Heart Institute at ECU Health Medical Center, located in Greenville, North Carolina, are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their expanding Cardiac Surgery Intermediate Unit Team. Nurse Practitioners must be certified as an ANP, ACNP or AGNP.  New graduates are welcome to apply.

Greenville, NC is located 80 miles east of Raleigh, NC and 80 miles northwest of beautiful Atlantic Beach, NC.

  • Established team inclusive of 5 Cardiac Surgeons and 6 Advanced Practice Providers
  • Clinical responsibilities will include participation in daily patient rounds with the interdisciplinary team, admission history and physical examinations, ongoing patient assessments and post-operative patient care, as well as pre- and postoperative care in the clinic
  • Schedule will include (8) 10-hour shifts every 2 weeks
  • No nights
  • Opportunity to work with a nationally recognized cardiac surgery program earning three 3-star ratings from STS for CABG and valve procedures and pioneer in minimally invasive and robotic surgery
  • System-wide EHR is EPIC
  • ACLS certification by the American Heart Association is required

East Carolina Heart Institute

East Carolina Heart Institute is not one, but two separate buildings operating together as a single, dynamic institute. The East Carolina Heart Institute at ECU Health Medical Center is the region’s preferred facility for cardiovascular care. The six-story tower houses clinical space, diagnostic services and cardiovascular operating rooms, including a hybrid operating room and 13 interventional labs. It features 120 beds for patients undergoing procedures for cardiac medicine, cardiac surgery and vascular surgery.

East Carolina Heart Institute at ECU is an outpatient center and serves as the primary teaching and research location for the institute. It contains offices and research labs for cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, vascular surgeons and scientists, as well as exam rooms, a rehabilitation center and a 250-seat auditorium.
