Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Physician Assistant for Vascular Surgery. Successful candidates must be proficient in assisting with major vascular surgical procedures and medical care to patients. The APP will use critical care thinking skills and have a strong base in Vascular Surgery. Must be able to work collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team, this includes but is not limited to: physicians, nurses, pharmacy and case management. The purpose of this job is to deliver high quality efficient care to our Vascular Surgery population which includes but not limited to patients who have had peripheral angiography, EVAR, carotid stenting, CEA, DVT.

• Performing patient histories and physical exams
• Performing daily rounds, including discharge summaries and patient education
• Pre-surgery, explain the procedure to the patient and the patient's family, answering any questions and addressing concerns. Perform routine pre-operative tests.
• During the surgery, physician assistants will assist the surgeon with a sutures, drainage tubes, and anything the physician deems necessary.
• Post-surgery, vascular surgery care for patients by monitoring their recovery, ordering and reviewing lab tests, removing sutures, drainage tubes and addressing any problems or issues with the surgeon. Oversee the patient's discharge process, which may include explaining discharge instructions, follow-up care, and writing prescriptions.
