Opportunity Details

Henry Ford Health is seeking an NP/PA for days or nights. Contingent position available with a minimum of 1 weekend per month and 1 holiday per year required. 

Overview:

  • Provides emergent, inpatient and/or outpatient medical care with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff
  • Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders and interprets tests, makes diagnoses and institutes appropriate treatment programs
  • Performs nursing functions independently
  • Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved in a safe and efficient manner
  • Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience

Requirements:

  • Must be a Masters prepared Registered Nurse who has graduated and taken the board certification within their chosen specialty -OR- Must hold a Bachelor's Degree and have completed an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program and taken the boards
  • Must have no encumbering circumstances which would prevent credentialing by the Henry Ford Medical board
  • Requires licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner; licensure as a Registered Nurse -OR- Requires licensure as a Physician Assistant
  • Must be eligible or have obtained a DEA number for prescriptive authority in Michigan
  • BCLS Certification required
  • ACLS Certification required
  • Requires certification in one of the following: ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field; National Certification Corporation (NCC); National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates; and/or Certification from Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) -OR- Requires continuing certification by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in inpatient critical care medicine as an APP or an RN is preferred
  • A Physician Assistant or a Nurse Practitioner who holds an Acute Care Degree is preferred
  • Experience working with central lines is preferred; if the experience is not held there must be a willingness to learn

Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital is a 379 bed acute care hospital and is part of the Henry Ford Health. Recently renovated and with some of the highest patient satisfaction and quality ratings in the Henry Ford Health.

Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital operates an outpatient site, Henry Ford Health Center, Brownstown, situated on a 35-acre site.  The outpatient ambulatory surgery center includes a 24 -hour emergency department, same day surgery, a diagnostic sleep lab, pharmacy, clincial lab and medical office space.  The medical imaging department offers CT scanning, ultrasound, X-ray, mammography and breast stereotactic service.

Wyandotte and the surrounding Downriver Region have some of the most available and affordable waterfront housing in the metro Detroit area.  Easily accessible to highways and minutes from Detroit and Ann Arbor's cultural centers.  The community hosts annual Art Fairs and has a thriving downtown shopping district with easy access to the Grosse Ile island community which boast of some of the best schools in the state and excellent water access.
