Night Shift Licensed Nurse (RN / LPN) Position Purpose (Sign on Bonus: UP TO $5,000)

The Licensed Nurse (RN/LPN) is responsible for identifying, assessing, and meeting the medical, physical, and psychosocial needs of residents in accordance with physician orders, resident care plans, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This position ensures the highest quality of resident care is delivered at all times.

The RN or LPN assumes the authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to perform assigned duties within their scope of practice.

Schedule: 6 PM-6 AM, Rotating Schedule

Job Requirements

* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an active RN or LPN license in good standing, with privileges to practice in the state of employment. Employees are responsible for maintaining active licensure and certifications.
* Previous nursing experience preferred; long-term care experience strongly preferred.
* Ability to complete all new-hire requirements, including but not limited to a criminal background check, Food Handler's Permit, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
* Completion of new-hire orientation and participation in required in-services and continuing education.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with residents, families, and team members.
* Excellent organizational, critical-thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
* Ability to communicate proficiently in English, both verbally and in writing.
* Proficiency with computers and healthcare technology systems.
* Willingness to comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, company policies, and employee handbook standards.
* Flexibility to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as required.
* Ability to participate professionally in surveys and inspections conducted by regulatory agencies.
* Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including standing or sitting for extended periods and lifting/carrying over 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
* Ability to manage the mental and emotional demands of working with geriatric, dementia, mentally ill, and disabled populations.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining adaptable to changing priorities.

Summary of Principal Accountabilities

* Provide and oversee direct resident care for assigned residents during scheduled shifts.
* Delegate nursing tasks appropriately and supervise assigned nursing staff in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
* Receive and provide shift-to-shift reports, including resident status updates and controlled substance counts.
* Deliver person-centered care that respects resident rights, goals, preferences, and individualized care plans.
* Administer medications and treatments as ordered; document accurately, including refusals.
* Monitor resident responses to medications and treatments and notify providers of any changes or concerns.
* Enter, process, and carry out physician orders promptly.
* Order medications and supplies following facility procedures.
* Maintain medication and treatment carts in a clean, organized, and compliant manner.
* Communicate changes in resident condition to the Director of Nursing, providers, and resident representatives as appropriate.
* Initiate and complete incident reports, including assessments and required notifications.
* Review and update resident care plans as conditions and needs change.
* Complete assessments, progress notes, and documentation accurately and on schedule.
* Collect lab specimens, complete requisitions, report results, and document appropriately.
* Assist with resident admissions, readmissions, and discharges, including assessments, education, and documentation.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and ancillary service providers.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of nursing and work areas.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN, Permanent

Pay: $37.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 - 48.0 per week
