Job Description

UofL Health/UofL Physicians is seeking an APRN/PA Nocturnist Hospitalist for UofL Health Hospital. The Hospitalist Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will function as a provider on an Emergency Department based inpatient Hospitalist service.  The Hospitalist APP will function in collaboration with the medical director in the care of adult patients with critical illness on the mixed acuity units. His/her primary responsibility as a member of team will be management of a case load of critically ill patients in a primarily mixed acuity/transitional care unit setting.

They will perform physical exams, collect and document data, organize/perform approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consults, prescribe appropriate interventions and medications, and provide direct patient care services to admitted Internal Medicine patients. The Hospitalist APP will contribute to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting and provide leadership within the organization and the nursing profession.
