Job Description:
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Toledo College of Medicine is seeking an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Adolescent Medicine, a board certified or board eligible candidate in Adolescent Medicine, Pediatrics, or Med Peds. This position offers a unique opportunity to build upon the recent academic affiliation of University of Toledo COMLS (UT) with a large vibrant community hospital that has expanded our opportunities for our fellows, residents, and students; to increase the number and expertise of the full-time faculty; and to enhance our growing research endeavors.
Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care: Provide diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic services to adolescents, managing conditions such as reproductive health, eating disorders, substance use, and mental health issues.
- Education: Lead resident and medical student rotations, delivering lectures, teaching in clinical settings, and mentoring learners. Develop and refine educational curricula to ensure residents gain expertise in adolescent medicine.
- Research: Engage in scholarly activities, including clinical or translational research, and contribute to academic publications. Support residents in developing their own research projects.
- Leadership & Service: Contribute to the scholarly mission of the department with focus on junior faculty and trainee. Advocate for adolescent health and contribute to institutional committees and quality improvement initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor or Osteopathic Medicine Required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Pediatrics.
- Successful completion of applicable fellowship.
- Current and unrestricted licensure in the State of Ohio required, prior to beginning the position.
- At least 5 years of clinical experience.
- Experience in working as a team of healthcare professionals and collaborating with them to ensure positive, effective patient experiences with our organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
