Norton Children’s Development Center, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, and a part of Norton Children’s Medical Group, provides diagnostic services and medical care for children with developmental disorders. In 2024, nearly 6,000 children and teens with various developmental conditions were seen at the center. The team is composed of two developmental-behavioral pediatricians, five pediatric psychologists, one advanced practice registered nurse, two speech-language pathologists, one occupational therapist, one dietitian and one licensed clinical social worker who collaborate to deliver evidence-based, family-centered, community-responsive diagnostic and therapeutic services to children with complex developmental needs. The team also works closely with other specialists from the University of Louisville School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics Division of Genetics and Norton Children’s Autism Center to provide comprehensive multidisciplinary care for children with genetic syndromes and autism spectrum disorder.
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to serve children with neurodevelopmental conditions — and the families who care for them — with compassionate, evidence-based and coordinated care at the center. As part of Norton Children's commitment, we support vulnerable families by ensuring accurate diagnoses, timely interventions and therapies that promote lifelong development. We are dedicated to building collaborative systems of support, educating families and future providers, and creating an environment where clinical excellence and compassion fuel positive growth.
