- You manage your weekly OR to Clinic schedule
- Get to know your patients, seeing an average of 8-10 on OR days and 12 on Clinic days (with room for growth)
- Keep your medical practice sharp by performing a wide range of procedures including B&B, endoscopy, LAP hernia, colon, gall bladder, appendectomy, but no C-sections
- Open to launching new service lines to match your skillset
- No ICU in this 25-bed critical access hospital, with very little trauma

Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center (MEMC) is an acute, specialty, primary- and behavioral-health provider committed to delivering comprehensive medical services to anyone living, working, or visiting Southeast Alaska.
MEMC is also a 25-bed critical access hospital with a broad range of medical specialties and primary care services (in close partnership with Alaska’s other health facilities) to support a comprehensive spectrum of healthcare and related services.
The Emergency Department at MEMC is a Level IV Trauma Center staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by board-certified physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and registered nurses who specialize in care for patients with serious illnesses and injuries.
MEMC ED services include the evaluation and stabilization of patients transferred from other facilities or communities and patients who may require transfer to higher levels of care. MEMC will provide emergency medical screening and stabilization to all individuals in accordance with the Emergency Medical Services/Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act Policy (EMTLA).
Sitka, the second largest city in Southeast Alaska with approximately 9,000 residents, is known as the region where culture and nature harmonize.
