Boone Hospital Center, a 392-bed full service hospital in Columbia, Missouri is seeking a Cardiologist – Inpatient Care. This role focuses on high-quality, efficient inpatient cardiovascular management, multidisciplinary coordination, and safe transitions of care.

Practice Highlights:

  • 7 consecutive days of inpatient service, followed by 7 consecutive days off
    • Flexibility is schedule, opportunity to discuss shift schedule in interviews

Responsibilities:

  • Provide inpatient cardiology consultative and/or primary service coverage during assigned 7-day blocks
  • Evaluate and manage acute cardiovascular conditions, including Acute coronary syndromes, Decompensated heart failure, Arrhythmias, Syncope, Valvular heart disease
  • Pre-operative cardiac evaluations
  • Interpret ECGs, telemetry, stress tests (if applicable), echocardiograms (if credentialed), and other noninvasive cardiac studies
  • Perform bedside procedures as credentialed (e.g., cardioversion, temporary pacing, TEE if applicable)
  • Collaborate with interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac surgery, and critical care teams
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds (ICU, heart failure, structural, or shock team as applicable)
  • Supervise and provide teaching to residents, fellows, and APPs (if academic setting)
  • Ensure timely documentation and communication with referring providers
  • Facilitate discharge planning and outpatient follow-up coordination
