Exciting Opportunity: Pediatric Cardiology Physician Assistant in a Premier Children's Cardiac Care Center!
Join our renowned Pediatric Cardiology team as a Cardiology Pediatric Physician Assistant and be a vital part of a cutting-edge, nationally recognized cardiac intensive care unit. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert bedside care to a diverse patient population with complex congenital and acquired heart conditions, including pediatric heart failure, transplantation, and advanced mechanical circulatory support. What You're Good At:
- Independently performing critical bedside procedures such as removal of chest tubes, pacing wires, and surgical drains
- Monitoring and managing pediatric patients with congenital and acquired cardiac conditions
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
- Demonstrating strong critical thinking and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations
- Communicating effectively with patients' families, team members, and healthcare providers
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with pediatric ECMO, ventricular assist devices, or transplant management
- Proficiency in advanced mechanical circulatory support devices and therapies
- Prior experience in a pediatric critical care or cardiac unit
- Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Graduate degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current PA licensure with certification (AAPA-certified)
- Critical Care Certification (CCRN or equivalent) is required
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a pediatric critical care or cardiology setting is highly preferred
Additional Requirements:
- Valid credentialing and licensing to practice in the state
- The ability to perform procedural skills independently
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations as needed
- Travel and certification reimbursements provided when applicable
