What You'll Bring to the Role — Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Board Certification in Surgery (General)
• Active North Carolina Medical License and NC DEA registration (with NC address)
• Clean background with no recent or open malpractice or disciplinary cases
• Capable of providing comprehensive surgical care including hernia repair, cholecystectomy, breast procedures, abscess drainage, endoscopy (EGD and colonoscopy), appendectomy, and small bowel and colon surgeries
• Proven experience with bread-and-butter general surgeries
• Ability to be on-call and respond within 20 minutes of the facility as per bylaws
• Strong communication skills and professionalism

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience in hospital-based surgical care
• Familiarity with Meditech 6.1 EMR system
• Military background or previous employment through staffing agencies

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• At least 2 years of post-residency experience in general surgery
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)

Additional Requirements:

• 24-hour call shifts scheduled from July 10 to July 13, 24 to July 27, 2026
• Must be enrolled with Medicare, Medicaid, and PECOS as a provider
• Provider must carry malpractice insurance and include coverage details in daily rate
• On-site hospital-owned accommodations available, with travel expenses capped at $500
• Ability to work 4 hours gratis daily, with preference to bulk gratis hours
• Certification of military or employer approval for moonlighting if applicable
