Intermountain Health is in search of a Medical Director of Cardiovascular Research for a director-level leadership opportunity in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role offers the rare ability to lead a mature, well-funded cardiovascular research enterprise while expanding systemwide impact across a nationally respected, integrated health system.

You will build on a strong academic foundation, 82 peer-reviewed publications in 2025 alone, while shaping enterprise strategy across outcomes research, clinical trials, and prevention-focused innovation. With protected academic time, robust data infrastructure, and executive-level support, this position is designed for a mid-career physician-scientist ready to lead at scale and translate discovery into measurable population health impact.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
  • Board Certified/ Board Eligible in a Cardiology specialty
  • Unrestricted Utah MD or DO license or the ability to obtain an unrestricted license
  • U.S. ACGME Residency
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
  • Experience in conducting industry sponsored clinical research trials
  • Experience as a Medical Director or Medical Executive
