Garden City, Kansas (pop. 27,004) is located on the high plains of Southwest Kansas in Finney County (pop. 37,097), and is the economic hub for the region, serving a population of approximately 200,000.

Our new 30,000 sq/ft facility provides cutting edge technology and numerous support services, all in a quiet and comfortable setting. Heartland Cancer Center in Garden City features the only in-house PET/CT simulator in Western Kansas, as well as the latest linear accelerator from Varian, the TrueBeam STx. We also offer access to clinical trials, oncology navigators, and optional private infusion suites. The Breast Center at St. Catherine Hospital, also located under our roof, is the only nationally accredited Breast Center between Kansas City and Denver.
Emporia has an important place in American history. It is the founding city of Veterans Day. It is also the home of famous newspaper editor William Allen White, who was known nationally as the Sage of Emporia for gaining the ear and trust of U.S. Presidents and leaders of his day.
Emporia is the county seat of Lyon County; the city population is about 25,000 people, and Lyon County has approximately 35,000 people.

This position would work closely with our independent multidisciplinary oncology team comprised of 3 full-time Radiation Oncologists and 6 full-time Medical Oncologists providing care in 5 locations throughout Kansas and Missouri.

Our vast range of technology includes, but is not limited to, the Varian TrueBeamSTx, 64 slice PET/CT, HDR, Tele Health services, Stereotactic, IMRT, Clinical Trials, latest in oncology/immunotherapy treatment options and the most state-of-the-art cloud based oncology specific EMR that allows us to connect from anywhere. Our advanced technology and paperless systems allow us to provide the most up to date options for providers to complete their dictation, as well as interfaces to assist with the flow of communication and information for each patient chart.
