Brief Description

As an Occupational Medicine Officer, you will determine the conditions that allow for optimal performance in work duties assigned to Soldiers and Army civilians. In doing so, you will also be required to identify occupational hazards, administer employee leave programs, and maintain knowledge on laws pertaining to illness and injury related to employee leave.

Benefits

Army Reserve (Part-Time - 38 days a year)

  • Loan Repayment: $250,000 in student loan repayment in $40,000 annual payments to qualifying federal student loans paid directly to the lending institution through the Health Professions Loan Repayment Program (HPLRP).
  • Sign-on Bonus: $25,000 annual signing bonus for 2, 3, or 4 years of service.
  • Incentive Pay: up to $35,000 paid annually for each successful year of service. Must have completed residency program in your specialty.
  • Location: Continue your civilian occupation serving time at a local unit within 50 miles of your location. Transition to different locations as needed.
  • Rank Recognition: Starting rank and salary determined by educational and professional history.

Requirements

  • Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates.
  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico.
  • U.S. citizenship or Permanent Residence.
