Job Description

Cook County Health is seeking a Hematology & Oncology physician to join an exceptional team serving patients from across the greater Chicago area. This position has a wide range of responsibilities which includes, providing care for in-patient oncology and/or hematology consult services while also staffing out-patient care sessions in the sub-specialty clinic, providing direct patient care and supervising trainee. The role also supports care of patients throughout Cook County Health (CCH) network through direct care, consultation, or electronic consultation and sets standards and ensures the provision of consistent high-quality care to patients with hematology and oncology disorders by educating, assisting, and guiding primary care physicians.   • Compensation is between $269,255 and $315,857 per year
  • Must be a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy Medicine (DO) from an accredited college or university
  • Must be a licensed physician in the State of Illinois or be eligible to obtain before beginning employment
  • Must be Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology or Board Eligible in a pathway leading to certification.
  • Must have a valid Illinois Controlled Substances License or have the ability to obtain license prior to starting employment
  • Must have a valid licensure with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration or have the ability to obtain license prior to starting employment
  • Demonstrated ability in providing effective and compassionate patient care; adhering to policies and precepts related to infection -control and antimicrobial stewardship; and manifesting respectful and professional behavior, scholarly inquiry and commitment to self- and institutional improvement is required
  • Demonstrated ability in instructing colleagues and trainees in formal and informal settings is required
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a wide variety of ambulatory and inpatient clinical settings, and with patients, trainees, colleagues and other healthcare workers from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic, racial and ethnic backgrounds is required
  • Ideal Candidate will have a focus on Malignant Hematology
