Responsibilities

Ascension Saint Agnes is looking for a Chief CRNA for our Anesthesiology Department! The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience as a CRNA and will demonstrate current competency in the management and clinical responsibilites specified.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of nurse anesthesia services in collaboration with departments of anesthesia, surgery and nursing administration
  • Develops and interprets organizational policies for budgets and personnel
  • Assumes responsibility for safe and proper operation and quality control of equipment, techniques, and procedures
  • Analyzes and evaluates to assure established quality patient care.
  • Performs and documents a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient.
  • Develops and implements an anesthetic plan of care, including monitoring modalities and post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care.
  • Selects, obtains and administers the anesthetic plan of care, including induction, maintenance and emergence phase anesthesia.
  • Recognizes alterations in physiologic responses to the surgical procedure and/or the anesthetic, takes appropriate action and notifies the responsible physician as indicated.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
• Nurse Anesthetist credentialed from the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Maryland Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
Preferred Credential(s):
• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA). Verified by local Credentialing Office.

 

Education:
• Master's or Doctorate of Nursing Anesthesia Practice or Nursing Practice required.
