Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s in Physical Therapy (required)
  • Licensure:
    • Current TX PT License
    • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of employment, before patient care is administered independently.
  • Experience: 1+ year clinical experience (preferred)
  • Technical Skills:
    • Treatment planning

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the general supervision of the Director of Therapy Services, organizes and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy programs in the hospital to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part; helps patients reach his/her maximum performance within the limits of his/her capabilities.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical abilities and limitations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and goals.
  • Implement therapeutic exercises and modalities to improve strength, flexibility, and mobility.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment options, home exercises, and injury prevention.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal recovery.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Document all patient interactions and treatment outcomes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients post-treatment.
