Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or Physican Assistant- Vergennes, Porter Medical Center

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Primary Care department in Vergennes. This role provides comprehensive primary care to patients across the lifespan, including both pediatric and adult populations. The APP will practice medicine within their scope of practice, based on education, training, and experience, in collaboration with the physician group.

Education, Licensure, and Certifications

Physician Assistant (PA):

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA–accredited program (or prior to January 2001, a CAAHEP-accredited program).

  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Nurse Practitioner (NP):

  • Completion of a master’s, post-master’s, or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by CCNE or ACEN.

  • Current certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body.

All Candidates Must:

  • Be board certified/board eligible.

  • Obtain (or be eligible for) a Vermont NP or PA license.

  • Hold (or be eligible for) a DEA certificate.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a primary care setting is required.
