Job Description

SSM Health-SLUCare Department of Surgery’s division of General Surgery is recruiting for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support the breast surgery practice at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital.  SLUCare represents the academic medical practice of Saint Louis University, known for leading-edge care and groundbreaking research.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of nationally accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) Program or Physician Assistant Program
  • Current RN and NP licensure in the State of Missouri or Physician Assistant licensure in the State of Missouri
  • Must have experience post education in general surgery with clinical focus, or rotational experience during training in general surgery
  • BLS certification

Opportunity:

  • 100% outpatient clinical practice with focus on education and interaction with patients.
  • APP will be the on-site resource for patients and referring physicians at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital to help keep the current pool of high-risk breast patients in the SSM Health system and help reduce wait times and patient access.
  • APP will see the majority of the post-op patients, non-urgent and high-risk breast patients.
  • Potential to have own patient panel once fully onboarded.
  • Potential for APP to independently perform minor procedures such as draining of cysts, wound debridement.
  • Standard business hours Monday-Friday
  • No weekends/call/holidays
