Administrative Director of Workforce
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Position Summary
The Administrative Director of Workforce leads the strategic direction and operational execution of CMH’s workforce strategy. This position is responsible for developing and implementing programs that strengthen recruitment, personnel management, employee engagement, leadership development, talent management, and support workforce education.
This leader partners closely with the Chief Operating Officer and senior leadership to ensure CMH has a strong, capable, and future-ready workforce to support expected growth and operational excellence across the health system.
In addition, this role provides strategic support to Medical Staff Services related to recruitment, onboarding, and education of employed medical staff, in collaboration with physician leadership and administrative partners.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Workforce Leadership
- Develop a long-term workforce strategy aligned with CMH’s mission, values, and expansion plans
- Drive initiatives to improve recruitment, retention, engagement, and workforce satisfaction
- Utilize workforce analytics and forecasting to inform organizational staffing needs
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Lead a proactive, modern recruitment strategy to attract top clinical and non-clinical talent
- Establish outreach partnerships with colleges, training programs, and community organizations
- Develop career pathways and internal pipeline programs
Leadership & Talent Development
- Oversee leadership development programs, including training, coaching, and succession planning
- Identify and nurture high-potential employees for future leadership roles
- Support continuing education and non-clinical workforce competency development
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Build culture-strengthening initiatives that improve workplace experience and retention
- Develop systems to monitor engagement trends and lead action planning
- Champion employee recognition and well-being programs
Medical Staff Workforce Support
- Partner with Medical Staff Services, physician leadership, and senior administration to support recruitment, onboarding, and professional integration of employed medical staff
- Assist in the development and coordination of onboarding programs for employed physicians and advanced practice providers to promote early engagement, alignment, and retention
- Support educational initiatives for employed medical staff, including leadership development, organizational orientation, and non-clinical education
- Collaborate with Medical Staff Services to ensure workforce strategies are aligned across employed providers and the broader CMH workforce
- Serve as a strategic resource to support physician workforce planning and long-term provider development initiatives
HR Partnership & Collaboration
- Work closely with Human Resources operations (benefits, employee relations, compliance) to ensure alignment and support workforce initiatives
- Collaborate with Nursing Education and clinical leaders to integrate workforce strategies across clinical and non-clinical areas
- Collaborate with Medical Staff Services to support physician recruitment, onboarding, education, and workforce integration efforts
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on workforce, leadership, and people-focused strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business, or related field preferred
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in workforce planning, HR leadership, or organizational development
- Healthcare experience strongly preferred
- Proven success building workforce programs, leadership development initiatives, or employee engagement systems
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in workforce metrics, analytics, and performance improvement
