Advance Complex Gastrointestinal Care with Health First
Health First Medical Group is seeking an Advanced Gastroenterologist to join our growing team on Florida’s Space Coast. This opportunity is ideal for a gastroenterologist interested in caring for patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions while collaborating closely with specialists across gastroenterology, hematology/oncology, radiation oncology, and potentially surgical oncology.
We are particularly interested in a procedural-focused gastroenterologist seeking a Monday–Friday schedule with no call responsibilities. We are also open to a hospital-based general GI model with a 7-on/7-off schedule and nighttime call for physicians who prefer an inpatient-focused practice.
Our goal is to build a collaborative approach to complex GI care, supporting patients who require specialized evaluation, advanced diagnostic services, and coordinated treatment planning.
Clinical Focus & Patient Population
The physician will care primarily for adults ages 50 and older, with a patient population that may include:
- Pancreaticobiliary diseases and complex gastrointestinal conditions
- Patients with cancer and gastrointestinal complications related to malignancy
- Oncology patients requiring coordinated GI evaluation and management
- Cancer screening and preventive gastrointestinal care
- Severe gastrointestinal motility disorders
- Structural gastrointestinal disorders requiring specialized evaluation and treatment
The role offers the opportunity to work closely with our established GI group and collaborate with hematology/oncology and radiation oncology physicians. Partnership with surgical oncology may also be part of the evolving multidisciplinary model.
Practice Models
We are open to two potential practice structures based on the physician’s interests and experience.
Option 1: Outpatient Procedural Gastroenterology
- Preferred Monday–Friday schedule
- Procedure-focused practice
- No call responsibilities
- Collaboration with the broader GI team and multidisciplinary specialists
- Opportunity to contribute to the evaluation and management of complex GI and pancreaticobiliary conditions
Option 2: Inpatient General Gastroenterology
- Hospital-based general GI practice
- 7 days on / 7 days off
- Nighttime call responsibilities
- Inpatient evaluation and management of a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions
- Collaboration with hospital-based specialists and the multidisciplinary care team
The final practice structure will depend on the physician’s background, clinical interests, and alignment with the needs of the program.
Qualifications
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology
- Eligible for medical licensure in Florida
- Advanced endoscopic or procedural expertise preferred for the procedural model
- Interest in complex GI disease and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
If you are interested in a procedural-focused gastroenterology practice with no call or a hospital-based 7-on/7-off model, we welcome the opportunity to discuss how this position could align with your professional goals.
