Brief Description

As an Anesthesiologist, the work you will do in the U.S. Army healthcare team is not only an essential service, but also life-saving. You’ll administer and/or supervise administration of anesthesia to patients who undergo surgery and other procedures. As an Officer in the U.S. Army healthcare community, you’ll have the opportunity to receive unique training in trauma settings and serve a rotation on the forward surgical team, building a distinguished medical career while making a difference in the lives of Soldiers and their families. Some other unique duty positions are Chief, Anesthesia Service; Medical School Faculty Appointment; Consultant.

Active Duty (Full-time)

  • Accession (Sign-on) Bonuse: $600,000
  • Loan Repayment: Receive $120,000 in student loan repayment in $40,000 annual payments to qualifying federal student loans paid directly to the lending institution through the Health Professions Loan Repayment Program (HPLRP).

Requirements Include

  • Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates.
  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico.
  • U.S. citizenship
