Beaumont Health seeks a highly skilled and compassionate physician with interest in esophageal/gut motility clinical service, research, and education to join an established Gastroenterology Team at the Royal Oak campus, approximately 30 minutes outside Detroit. This large academic medical center with more than a thousand inpatient beds serves as a tertiary referral center for the geographical area. U.S News & World Report Hospitals ranking of 2021-2022 has named us No. 19 in Gastroenterology and GI Surgery in the nation

This position will be integral in developing advanced Gastroenterology services at Beaumont Health-Royal Oak, joining an established Hepatology/liver transplant and Advanced/interventional gastroenterology services, and in the process of recruiting an Inflammatory Bowel Disease specialist.

The ideal candidate would have completed an additional year of esophageal/gut motility fellowship training or has expertise in caring for patients with esophageal/gut motility disorders, beyond the standard 3-year Gastroenterology fellowship training. They must be skilled in endoscopic and all motility procedures. Physicians joining the Gastroenterology Team will also be appointed to the faculty of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.

Applicants must be board eligible/certified in Gastroenterology, able to obtain a Michigan medical license and meet hospital credentialing requirements. Interested candidates with all levels of clinical experience in IBD will be considered.

Responsibilities will include evaluation and management of patients with esophageal/gut motility disorders, involvement in clinical trials as related to motility, rounds on the hospital general gastroenterology consultation service with the gastroenterology fellows, inpatient consults on patients with motility disorders, teaching of gastroenterology fellows, residents, and medical students, and direct engagement with referring providers, among other responsibilities.
