The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University School of Medicine is looking to expand its brain stimulation program. We are seeking a clinical/translational investigator who can lead an interdisciplinary research program integrating preclinical insights with novel human clinical trials. Duke has a long tradition of clinical care, research, and education in the area of brain stimulation. The Duke Electroconvulsive Therapy Clinic provides cutting-edge clinical care, and the Duke Brain Stimulation Research Center offers brain stimulation research services for members of the Duke community.  A range of brain stimulation techniques are developed and utilized at Duke, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS), transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS), electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), deep brain stimulation (DBS), and magnetogenetics.

The candidate will be expected to maintain their own active program of brain stimulation research with extramural support. Candidates must hold an MD, MD/PhD, or Doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited university and be eligible for licensure as a psychologist or psychiatrist in North Carolina.
