Surgical Physician Assistant

Stamford Health is currently seeking an experienced Surgical Physician Assistant to join our team! This is an immediate need for a Physician Assistant to work in the Surgical Subspecialties at Stamford Hospital. This is a full-time position requiring clinical work and OR First Assist. The PA will assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with a variety of medical and surgical conditions which range from chronic diseases, acute illnesses, and health care maintenance. Under the direction of or in consultation with a physician, the PA will provide a broad spectrum of general patient care. Patient population includes approximately 95% Urology and Neurosurgery with an occasional Oral and Maxillofacial and ENT patients. Willing to train PA’s with at least 1 year of surgical inpatient experience in other surgical subspecialties

Qualifications of the Ideal candidate:

• B.A./B.S. and completion of 2 years accredited P.A. training program. 
• Current NCCPA certification required.
• 1 year emergency/surgical residency beyond formal training is preferred. 
• 1 year of surgical PA experience desired.
• BLS is required. ACLS and PALS desirable.
