Job Description

Details

  • Specialty:  Occupational Health
  • Subspecialty Interest:  Previous Occ Health and/or ED experience a plus
  • Schedule:  PRN to fill in for routine & non-routine scheduling holes across our 3 clinic network - Kalamazoo, Portage, & Battle Creek.   
  • Call Schedule: None
  • Practice Detail:  Corporate Occupational Health - Injury care & follow-up (including sutures), physicals, etc.  
  • EMR System:  Systoc with access to Cerner for EPIC as needed.  
  • Facility:  We have 3 clinics in SW Michigan:  Kalamazoo (Borgess Hospital Campus); Portage (Ascension Borgess Woodbridge); & Battle Creek (just off exit 97 Capital Avenue) 
  • Location:  Variable.

Responsibilities

Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician.

  • Obtain patient history and perform assessment. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures.
  • Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
  • Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Credentialing done by Medical Staff department required.
  • Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Credentialing done by Medical Staff department required.

Education:

  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 1 year of experience preferred.
