NaphCare is hiring a strong Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatric Physician Assistant to join our team at the Pueblo County Detention Center located in Pueblo, Colorado.  Come learn correctional healthcare as you use our cutting-edge resources, including our award-winning electronic operating system.

Position Expectations

  • Active, unrestricted license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of employment, along with psychiatric certification (PMHNP) or similar; OR Physician Assistant with experience in providing psychiatric care
  • Participate in a collaborative approach of patient management using the knowledge and clinical resources of every member of the health care staff to provide the resolution of diagnostic and therapeutic problems and the implementation of effective solutions.
  • Provide direct and indirect basic medical care to meet the physiological, psychological, and emotional needs of the patient within the framework established by the correctional system.
  • Conduct rounds in the medical and infirmary units, sick call visits, and chronic care management, using established clinical guidelines.
  • Schedule and perform laboratory and diagnostic procedures as assigned.
  • Evaluate patients by the end of the next work day who are returning from offsite treatment to review any information regarding the diagnosis, recommendations, or additional follow-up treatment required.
