Join Our Growing Surgical Team – Seeking a Board-Certified Colorectal Surgeon

Mercy Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Board-Certified Colorectal Surgeon to join our respected General Surgery team in Toledo, Ohio. This is a unique chance to help build and shape a new colorectal subspecialty service line in a growing market—bringing your expertise to a community that truly values exceptional care.

Whether you’re newly fellowship-trained or bring years of experience, you’ll find this role to be a meaningful blend of clinical care, leadership, and collaboration. You’ll work closely with oncology and surgical colleagues, supported by a strong network and advanced facilities that make delivering high-quality, patient-centered care both fulfilling and sustainable.

Why you’ll love being part of Mercy Health:

  • Collaboration that matters: You’ll join a team where multidisciplinary care is the norm. Our surgeons work side by side with oncology, gastroenterology, and other specialties to deliver seamless, comprehensive care.

  • Room to lead and grow: Be at the forefront of building a new colorectal program—shaping its direction, refining best practices, and contributing to its long-term success.

  • Teaching and mentorship: As part of our General Surgery Residency Program, you’ll have the chance to teach and mentor residents, helping shape the next generation of surgeons.

  • Strong support system: From advanced technology to a full spectrum of ancillary services, you’ll have everything you need to focus on what matters most—your patients.

  • Balanced schedule: Enjoy a Monday–Friday workweek with dedicated time for consultations, surgical planning, procedures, and follow-up care.

What we’re looking for:

  • Board-Certified General Surgeon with Fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery

  • Board Certification in Colon and Rectal Surgery preferred

  • A passion for comprehensive patient care and program development

  • Interest in teaching and mentoring within an academic setting

  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset
