Norton Children's, located in Louisville, Kentucky, is a non-profit healthcare system affiliated with the University of Louisville School of Medicine, is currently recruiting multiple pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists, pediatric anesthesiologists, and pediatric CRNAs to join its growing program.
In the new model, physicians can choose between an all-clinical track or a combined clinical and academic track with the UofL School of Medicine. The combined clinical and academic track provides the opportunity to explore quality improvement, clinical research, translational research, medical education child advocacy or community engagement. Norton Children’s Research Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, offers broad support for every stage of research, including study design and statistical analysis.

About the Position:
Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist
- $100,000 sign on bonus; up to $45,000 in relocation
- Collaborate with Norton Children’s Heart Institute, affiliated with UofL School of Medicine, the only comprehensive pediatric heart surgery, heart failure and transplant program in Kentucky with outcomes that rival similar programs in the region
- Provide anesthesia services for more than 230 heart surgeries annually, including heart transplants, almost 400 cardiac catheterizations and 126 electrophysiology procedures
- Work alongside a specialized team of providers consisting of four congenital cardiac anesthesiologists, 23 board-certified pediatric cardiologists, two pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons, 13 advanced practice providers and additional cardiovascular-specific support staff
- Support patients requiring the highest level of cardiovascular care in the Jennifer Lawrence Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, which has 17 private rooms offering advanced monitoring and facilities specific to the care of neonates through adolescents
- Participate as a key member on a pediatric cardiac surgical team that completes procedures such as complex congenital heart surgeries, heart transplants and left ventricular assist device placement
- Be part of a team leading pediatric cardiovascular care innovation for the region, including completing the first Micra leadless pacemaker implant in a pediatric patient in Kentucky, and using intraoperative heart mapping and a microvascular plug
- Employment under a 501(c)(3) non-profit healthcare system affiliated with the University of Louisville School of Medicine

Norton Children's Heart Institute is affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, is home to the only comprehensive pediatric cardiac surgery, heart failure and transplant program serving Kentucky and Southern Indiana. The full-service program features a specialized team that includes cardiovascular surgeons; transplant surgeons; heart failure cardiologists; pediatric cardiologists; fetal cardiologists; adult congenital heart disease specialists; pediatric and ACHD electrophysiologists; interventional cardiologists; cardiovascular anesthesiologists; intensive care physicians; specially trained pharmacist, social worker, dietitian, child life specialist and nurses; a family support team; and a rehabilitation specialist.
