Seeking Gastroenterology-trained Hepatologist: Rutgers Health at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, New Jersey

The Department of Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) at Rutgers Health is seeking highly qualified gastroenterology-trained hepatologist for an open-rank faculty position within the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at RWJMS and the Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health System.

The practice encompasses work at outpatient facilities and hospitals in the health system, primarily at our state-of-the-art Ambulatory Medical Pavilion outpatient clinic and at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) at the Rutgers New Brunswick campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The presence of gastroenterology fellows, residents and students provides extensive teaching and research opportunities. Responsibilities include building a robust outpatient clinical practice in Hepatology, attending on the inpatient Hepatology Service at RWJUH, outpatient and inpatient endoscopy (at RWJUH or nearby ambulatory surgery centers), and education (UME and GME).

Those interested will be afforded outstanding opportunities to engage in clinical, translational or basic science medical research. Candidates trained in liver transplantation will have the opportunity to serve as an attending hepatologist (both inpatient and outpatient) at the Liver Transplantation Program at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey (22 miles from the New Brunswick campus), a program recognized as having the highest one- and three-year patient and graft survivals in the country.

All candidates must be board certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology with either a focus on hepatology during their fellowship or completion of a PGY7 transplant hepatology fellowship. Education focused and administrative leadership positions are available based on candidate interest and expertise. Positions come with competitive base salaries, bonuses, and attractive benefits.  

 

The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $355,000 to $660,000 per year.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
