SUMMARY:
Provides critical care services at Acute Care sites. Responsible for history and physical exams for patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Rounds on assigned critical care patients. Compliant with all facility and Adfinitas quality initiatives. Partners with and oversees Advanced Practice Providers (“APPs”).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITES:

Essential Job Functions
- Manage Critical Care patients
- Create, direct, coordinate, and supervise the patient care plans daily
- Conduct/order diagnostic tests, and analyze results and prescribe indicated treatments and therapies
- Refer patients to medical specialists, social services or other professionals as appropriate
- Provide cross coverage for patients as requested by medical staff
- Round on existing hospitalist patients in multidisciplinary rounds
- Work as part of an integrated team with care management, nursing, pharmacy, etc.
- Assist in patient education and goal setting
- Participate and adhere to all quality metrics and goals as established and directed by Adfinitas or the client/hospital
- Partner with and oversee Advanced Practice Providers
- Submit accurate and timely charges for all professional services performed
- Lead Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) codes and Rapid Response Team evaluations
- Attend committee, CQI and management meetings, as appropriate
- Manage ventilators
- Complete central lines
- Perform intubations
- Comply with policies and procedures regarding department operations
- Establish and maintain records, reports and statistical data
- Other duties assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
- State licensure in good standing
- Federal DEA/State CDS certification (if applicable) in good standing
- Existing facility medical staff member in good standing or successful application and credentialing at facility
- Internal Medicine/Family Practice board certification/eligibility
- ACLS Certification
- Applicable screening and background checks
