Transplant Hepatology Physician/Assistant Professor of Clinical, Medicine

The Miami Transplant Institute is currently seeking an experienced, board-certified (or board-eligible) transplant hepatologist who is passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of patients with complex liver disease.

  • Collaboration with a highly skilled surgical team with extensive experience in complex cases including multi-visceral transplants.
  • Join an established group of eight hepatologists and three transplant-focused APPs located in the center of Miami.
  • Flexibility to establish a balance of transplant versus non-transplant hepatology as well as endoscopy time to meet the interests of the individual.
  • Opportunity to work with medical students, residents, and fellows, including transplant hepatology fellows.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Direct inpatient and outpatient care to adult patients, including pre- and post-transplant patients in both primary and consulting roles.
  • Perform endoscopy and colonoscopy.
  • Supervise trainees and APPs
  • Weekend and evening call which is shared among the providers
  • Attendance at multidisciplinary transplant and hepatology conferences and tumor board.
  • Participate and take on leadership roles within a robust QAPI infrastructure
  • Analyze outcomes and trends to determine appropriate performance metrics.
  • Participate in recruitment and supervision of clinical trials.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology

Certification and Licensing:

  • Valid and unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in transplant hepatology
