Exciting opportunity for an Assistant Professor of Clinical Full-time faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This individual will provide clinical psychological services as a sex therapist for the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center that may include mental health screenings, psychological assessments, individual, group and family therapy. 

 

Job Functions:

  • Provide mental health services for patients experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression or trauma following cancer diagnosis.   

  • Provide mental health screenings and conduct brief psychological interventions 

  • Provide mental health services, including psychological assessment, psychological testing, individual, family and group therapy and behavioral management 

  • Provide supervision for post-doctoral psychology fellows 

  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings 

  • Identify patients requiring psychiatric evaluation 

  • Assist in the development of culturally sensitive mental health services

Reports to the Department Medical Director of Psycho-Oncology for  SCCC   

 

Supervision Exercised: 

Post-doctoral Psychology Fellows 

 

Minimum Qualifications (Essential Requirements): 

Education: Psy.D. or Ph.D.; valid State of Florida Licensed Psychologist 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  

The sex therapist will play a critical role in providing a key complement of services to cancer patients.  Experience in behavior medicine.  Prior experience working with interdisciplinary teams.  Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
