Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG), in partnership with Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS), is seeking a fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologist to join our dynamic and expanding medical staff in Gainesville, Georgia. This is a full-time hospital-based position with an emphasis on interventional radiology (80%) and a smaller portion of general diagnostic radiology (20%), which may be distributed throughout the week or structured as designated diagnostic days, depending on team needs and scheduling preferences.

Key Responsibilities

Interventional Radiology (80%)

  • Perform a wide range of minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, including:
    • Biopsies, nephrostomies, biliary interventions
    • Dialysis access and maintenance
    • Central and peripheral venous access
    • Oncology interventions (ablations, embolizations)
    • Uterine fibroid embolization
    • Management of trauma-related IR cases
    • Pain management procedures
    • Portal hypertension interventions including TIPS
  • Participate in interdisciplinary tumor boards and clinical conferences
  • Provide pre- and post-procedural consults, with appropriate follow-up and documentation
  • Participate in a dedicated IR call rotation
  • Work within modern IR suites supported by a full team of experienced IR techs and nurses
  • Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) for clinical workflow optimization

Diagnostic Radiology (20%)

  • Interpret a range of general imaging studies:
    • Basic body CT (non-complex)
    • Ultrasound
    • X-rays (chest, MSK, abdominal)
    • Occasional fluoroscopic studies (e.g., barium swallows)

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Leadership Experience
  • 5+ Years Experience
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology or IR/DR
  • Completed a fellowship in Interventional Radiology (VIR or IR/DR)
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Georgia
  • Excellent clinical judgment and procedural skills
  • Strong communication and collaborative abilities in a hospital-based setting

Preferred:

  • Experience in a hospital-based IR practice
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary clinical environment
