Regional/Pain Anesthesiologist – Full-Time, Partnership Track

Opportunity Highlights:

Practice Overview:

Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem is a physician-led private practice with over 30 years of excellence in anesthesia care. Our team comprises 63 physicians and 105 CRNAs, providing services across 10 inpatient campuses and 3 ambulatory surgery centers within the rapidly expanding St. Luke’s University Health Network.

Clinical Scope:

  • Level I Trauma Center at St. Luke’s Bethlehem campus

  • Level II Trauma Center and Mother and Baby Pavilion at St. Luke’s Anderson campus (3,500 deliveries/year)

  • Diverse case mix: orthopedics, thoracic, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, urology, gynecology, ENT, vascular, general surgery

  • Dedicated teams for cardiac, pediatric, and critical care anesthesia

  • Active involvement in Perioperative Surgical Home model, acute pain service, surgical optimization clinic, and ERAS protocols

Acute Pain Service:

Our acute pain team includes anesthesiologists, internists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants specializing in addiction medicine and pain management. We focus on interventional pain procedures such as thoracic/lumbar epidurals, peripheral nerve blocks, and catheters, utilizing medications like Exparel and participating in trials/studies in regional anesthesia. Our multimodal non-narcotic pain regimen includes adjuncts such as ketamine, magnesium, lidocaine, and methadone.

Call Schedule:

  • First Call: Every 14 days; weekdays 3–4 PM to 7 AM, weekends 24-hour shifts

  • Second Call: Every 14 days; regular workday followed by backup duties

  • Post-call day off provided after both first and second calls

  • Voluntary calls at smaller campuses available for additional compensation

  • Call is evenly split between Bethlehem and Anderson (1:8)

Candidate Requirements:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible anesthesiologist

  • Strong regional anesthesia skills

  • Fellowship training in regional or pain anesthesiology is a plus

  • New graduates and fellows are encouraged to apply
