Exciting Consultative Cardiology Opportunity at Yale Medicine

Due to growth and expansion of services, Yale Medicine is seeking cardiologists to join our General Consultative teams to provide high-quality cardiovascular care through both ambulatory clinic and inpatient services at our Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a collegial and nationally recognized academic division within the Yale School of Medicine, with access to robust clinical programs and resources that support professional development and academic engagement.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Provide Consultative Cardiology Services: You would be responsible for diagnosing, managing, and treating patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. This includes both outpatient care in a clinic setting and inpatient care at Yale New Haven Hospital and other Yale New Haven Health System facilities.
  • Manage Diverse Patient Cases: You'll handle a broad spectrum of cardiovascular issues, from common disorders to more complex or rare conditions.
  • Collaborate in a Multidisciplinary Setting: You'll work with other specialists to provide comprehensive and collaborative patient care.
  • Teaching and Mentoring: A significant part of your role is to educate the next generation of physicians. You would teach and mentor medical students, residents, and cardiology fellows, helping them develop their clinical and professional skills.
  • Curriculum and Program Development: You may have opportunities to participate in developing and leading educational initiatives, such as conferences and lectures.
  • Academic Contribution: As a faculty member, you are expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine. This can take various forms.
  • Research Participation: You may be involved in clinical or translational research, quality improvement projects, or other academic initiatives. While the extent of research may vary, there is a strong emphasis on contributing to the Section's research programs.
  • Scholarly Work: You might be involved in publishing research findings, presenting at national meetings, and other scholarly activities.
  • Program Development: You may also be involved in developing new clinical programs or services.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold an M.D. degree and be board certified/board eligible in Cardiovascular Diseases to qualify. Academic appointments will be commensurate with experience.
