NORTON CHILDREN’S CANCER INSTITUTE, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, and a part of Norton Children’s, seeks a board-certified pediatric hematologist/oncologist with a focus on stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy. The selected candidate will demonstrate academic engagement, a commitment to teaching, and clinical excellence through fellowship training or practice experience caring for patients undergoing stem cell transplantation and other cellular therapies.

Candidates will be considered if they have clinical and research efforts focused on transplantation for malignant or nonmalignant conditions, treatment and prevention of transplant-related complications, gene therapy or other areas relevant to pediatric transplantation; or leadership or participation in clinical quality improvements focused on transplant quality metrics. The position includes a faculty appointment to the UofL School of Medicine.

The Norton Children’s Cancer Institute Hanna Catherine Evans Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant Program is accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy. Our four transplant physicians perform approximately 10 to 15 transplants annually, including autologous, related allogeneic, haploidentical and alternative-donor transplants. A dedicated team of advanced practice providers, nurse clinicians and pharmacists help provide comprehensive care to transplant patients.

A well-equipped stem cell apheresis unit and bone marrow processing laboratory provide strong technical support. Physicians and patients benefit from our connection with an active preclinical cellular therapy research laboratory, and a GMP cellular product manufacturing facility is in development.
