Join a team that’s Changing What’s Possible – The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy & Sleep Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a board-certified sleep medicine clinician-educator to join their growing Sleep Medicine program in charming Charleston, SC. The chosen candidate will play a key role in educating future leaders in sleep medicine, as well as broadening access to diagnosis and treatment for patients with sleep disorders in Charleston and the surrounding areas.

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Board certification in Sleep Medicine.
  • Physicians dual boarded in Pulmonary Medicine are strongly encouraged to apply, and the position can be changed to accommodate a pulmonary medicine practice as well.
  • Academic orientation, interest in teaching, and passion for outreach

About our opportunity:

  • Involvement in the teaching of medical students, residents, and 2 sleep medicine fellows per year.
  • Join a collegial team of sleep medicine physicians, APPs, and support staff who are excited about the growth and direction of the program.
  • Schedule: 7 half-day clinics per week with 8 patients per clinic
  • 16-bed outpatient sleep lab, increasing to 22 beds shortly with plans for more in the next year.  
  • Statewide Telemedicine network, with 6 additional sleep labs across the state.
  • Opportunities for research abound but there is no mandatory requirement.
  • Opportunities to collaborate with MUSC’s Departments of Otolaryngology, Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, Pediatrics, Neurology, and the College of Dentistry. Renowned surgical program for sleep apnea including phase 1 and phase 2 surgeries and HGNS implantation. Obesity Medicine is practiced both within the Sleep Division and in co-ordination with Endocrinology.
