Live the Life You've Imagined

Columbia, home to the University of Missouri, is centrally located between Kansas City and St. Louis and within easy reach of the recreational Lake of the Ozarks and the rivers of the Ozark foothills.  The college community of just over 100,000 offers an unusual combination of rural and metropolitan experiences.

Home to eight hospitals and more than 700 practicing physicians, health care is the dominant industry in Columbia with one in five employed residents working in a health-related profession.  Columbia also has one of the highest rates of physicians per capita in the nation. Higher education and the insurance industry are also major employers in the area.

Columbia was listed in the book, 50 Fabulous Places to Raise Your Family and has been consistently recognized by national magazines such as Consumer's Digest and Money as one of the top places to live in the U.S.  With a remarkably low cost of living; a stable, service-oriented economy; low crime rate; and the availability of affordable housing and outstanding health care, Columbia allows for a lifestyle hard to find in other areas.

Diversity Commitment

The University of Missouri is fully committed to achieving the goal of a diverse and inclusive academic community of faculty, staff, and students. We seek individuals who are committed to this goal and our core campus values of respect, responsibility, discovery, and excellence.
