Job Description

About this role: 

Intermountain Health is seeking a Pulmonary Critical Care physician to join a team of experienced intensivists to work in the state-of-the-art facility at McKay-Dee Hospital, a 324-bed level II Certified Stroke Center.

You can anticipate working in both the Outpatient Pulmonary Clinic and ICU as an equal member of multi-disciplinary teams supporting advanced therapies for complex critically ill patients. The pulmonary team is currently made up of 7 physicians and 2 APPs, while the Critical Care team is made up of 12 physicians and 4 APPs (some overlapping pulmonary and critical care physicians).

In this role you can anticipate:

  • Practicing at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah; rotating 1-2 days per month at the new outreach pulmonary clinic in Logan, Utah
  • Mix of pulmonary clinic, pulmonary consults, and ICU shifts; 1,825 hours annually
  • 24-bed adult mixed medical/surgical ICU, caring for general surgery, trauma (Level II ASC Trauma Hospital Accreditation), cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, and medical patients
  • 24/7 in-house ICU coverage, with a mix of day and night shifts
  • Teaching opportunities throughout the year with family medicine residents, medical students, and APPs
  • Pulmonary referral base includes northern Utah, southwestern Wyoming, and southern Idaho
  • Opportunities for advanced bronchoscopy
  • This position including a sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, training stipend, and student loan repayment for those who qualify

What you’ll bring: 

  • MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine 
  • Residency training in Internal Medicine or Anesthesia or Emergency Medicine
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one 
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
