The Louis A Johnson Clarksburg VAMC is looking for a Primary Care Physician to join our team. At the Clarksburg VA, our healthcare teams are deeply experienced and guided by the needs of veterans, their families, and caregivers.
The Primary Care Physician will provide medical services for veterans (mostly male) on an outpatient basis in the primary care setting. Disease processes include, but are not limited to, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, mental health disorders, etc., with a major focus on preventive medicine.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Excellent work schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or Monday–Thursday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Salary: Starting at 200K

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.
Pay: Competitive salary 200K-300K, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal thrift savings plan (TSP) with up to 5% in contributions by VA (3 years vesting)

Contract Buy Out Program: This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years).

The Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center is a general medical and surgical hospital with 98 beds, located on a 16-acre site adjacent to the Veterans Memorial Park and the West Virginia State Nursing Home in the city of Clarksburg, West Virginia. It serves a Veteran population of approximately 70,000 in north central West Virginia and adjacent counties in Maryland, Ohio and Pennsylvania. In FY07 the medical center treated 19,554 unique patients through 216,090 outpatient visits and 3,541 admissions.
The facility was initially dedicated on December 7, 1950 and was enhanced with the clinical addition in 1989. Named after Louis A. Johnson, Secretary of Defense under President Truman, this medical center has been an active teaching facility since 1960 by participating in residency and academic affiliations with the West Virginia University, Fairmont State University, Alderson-Broaddus College and other nearby institutions of higher education.
Clarksburg, approximate population of 18,000 citizens, is located at the center of West Virginia's I-79 High Tech Corridor.
