About this role: 

Intermountain Health is seeking a Pulmonary Critical Care physician to join a team of experienced intensivists to work in the state-of-the-art facility at LDS Hospital, a 262-bed level II Certified Stroke Center, known for its clinical excellence, technological advancements, and focus on patient-centered care.

You can anticipate working in both the Outpatient Pulmonary Clinic and ICU as an equal member of multi-disciplinary teams supporting advanced therapies for complex critically ill patients. The pulmonary and critical care teams are currently made up of 10 physicians and 6 APPs.

In this role you can anticipate:

  • Practicing at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah; potentially rotating 1-2 days per month at the new outreach pulmonary clinic in Park City, Utah
  • Mix of pulmonary clinic, pulmonary consults, and ICU shifts; 1,825 hours annually
  • 16-bed adult mixed medical/surgical ICU, caring for medical patients, general surgery, trauma (Level II ASC Trauma Hospital Accreditation), hematologic malignancies, and bone marrow transplant patients
  • 24/7 in-house ICU coverage, with a mix of 10-hour days and 14-hour night shifts
  • Shared-services critical care model, supported by critical care advanced practice providers
  • Opportunities for advanced bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasounds
  • Opportunities to diversify pulmonary subspecialty areas within Intermountain
  • Consult service is an integral part of comprehensive Bone Marrow Transplant Program at LDS Hospital, with opportunities to participate in BMT Clinic as desired
  • LDS Hospital scheduled to open doors on new building in Downtown SLC in 2030
  • This position including a sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, training stipend, and student loan repayment for those who qualify

What you’ll bring: 

  • MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine 
  • Residency training in Internal Medicine
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one 
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
