Program Director | Family Medicine Residency – Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center

Mercy Health is seeking a physician leader to serve as Program Director for our ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. This full-time academic leadership role offers the opportunity to influence the training of future family physicians while advancing the mission of a health system deeply committed to caring for a diverse patient population.

This position combines academic leadership, clinical practice, and mentorship within a collaborative environment focused on educational excellence and community impact.

 

Role Highlights

  • Full-time academic leadership role with clinical practice responsibilities
  • Oversight and administration of the Family Medicine Residency Program
  • Direct mentorship and supervision of residents and faculty
  • Collaborative leadership supporting ongoing ACGME accreditation
  • Outpatient and inpatient clinical responsibilities
  • Engagement in community health and health equity initiatives

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead curriculum development, faculty recruitment, and program evaluation to support excellence in both education and patient care
  • Maintain program accreditation and guide continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate faculty and resident evaluations and performance reviews
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of residents
  • Collaborate with institutional leadership on strategic and financial planning
  • Serve as liaison among faculty, residents, and hospital administration
  • Prepare and submit required documentation and reports to ensure program compliance
  • Represent the residency program at institutional and GME committee meetings

 

Qualifications

  • Board certified in Family Medicine
  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience
  • At least three years of experience in graduate medical education (teaching or administrative)
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Ohio
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, and leadership skills
