Urologist- Mason City, Iowa

The Mason City Clinic (MCC) in Mason City, Iowa has an excellent opportunity for a BC/BE Urologist to join the Urology department.

Mason City Clinic is a multi-specialty physician-owned group without primary care.  All of our physicians are specialists. 

The Urology department is looking for a Urologist to join the practice. The Department staffing consists of 2 Surgeons and 2 PA’s. The surgeons perform most surgeries at either the local hospital (MercyOne – North Iowa Medical Center, a 342 bed regional referral teaching hospital) or the Ambulatory Surgery Center located on the same campus, across the parking lot. There are opportunities for outreach. There is investment opportunity in the ASC. Local hospital has physician staffed ED & hospitalist services.  MercyOne- North Iowa is a level III regional referral trauma center.  It is a faith-based, not-for-profit community health care system. 

The physicians and staff are committed to providing patient care that is compassionate, appropriate and effective treatment and the promotion of good health.  Two-year shareholder track.  Competitive salary and benefit package.

  • Full time base salary of $535,283
  • Productivity bonus of $66.39 per wRVU in excess of 8,799.
  • Call is included in base pay. 91 call days per physician are required each year. Additional call over 91 days has excess call rate of $792.

Description of job duties – Urology

*           Evaluates patients.  In doing so, reviews and interprets patient’s health history, conducts physical exam, and reviews laboratory, x-ray, and other test reports to determine diagnosis.

*          Based on results of patient’s evaluation, develops and implements treatment plan and provides education to patients.

*         Performs surgical procedures.

*          Evaluates hospitalized patient during preop and postop period, monitors progress, and releases patient from hospital.

*          Recognizes abnormal patient responses to treatment, surgery and/or medication and implements corrective actions as appropriate.

*          Documents all aspects of care provided.  Completes paperwork necessary to assure payment for services rendered.

*          Participates in the call coverage as assigned.

*          Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles, journals, and related material, and by attending seminars, conferences and so forth.

 

Job requires bending, sitting and standing on a regular basis.

Approximately 90% of time is spent in direct patient care activities.

Approximately 10% of time is spent in paperwork, equipment, supplies, committee meetings, etc.
