Avel eCare is a Joint Commission-accredited leader in telehealth, and we’re seeking a Board-Certified Physician to join our Senior Care division as Associate Medical Director. This remote, part-time role is ideal for a compassionate leader passionate about improving healthcare delivery for older adults. You’ll work alongside a supportive, communicative team, guiding Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and contributing to meaningful innovation in senior care.

  • 20 Administrative Hours/Month
  • 12–24 Clinical Hours/Month (approx. 2 clinical shifts)
  • Monday–Friday Administrative Work
• Reports To: Medical Director, Senior Care
• Status: Exempt

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight to APPs
• Conduct monthly chart reviews and offer guidance (approx. 8 hrs/month)
• Develop and execute clinical protocols and programming (8 hrs/month)
• Be listed on collaboration agreements with APPs in applicable states
• Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives
• Act as Medical Director for partner facilities as needed
• Maintain active licensure in all applicable states
• Complete CME activities (approx. 4 hrs/month)

Education and/or Experience:

• Board Certification: Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or related
• Experience:
  • 3+ years clinical experience (senior or long-term care preferred)
  • Experience supervising or collaborating with APPs
• Skills:
  • Strong leadership and communication
  • Comfortable with EMRs and navigating change
  • Familiarity with telehealth a plus

Licensure & Certification Requirements

• MD or DO with active, unrestricted medical license
• Willingness to obtain multi-state licensure
• Board certified in a related specialty
• DEA certification required
• ILMC eligibility preferred
