Chief of Medical Services - Outpatient Clinic

The Chief Medical Officer oversees medical, clinical, and public health activities in the outpatient clinic. Responsibilities include directing medical and infection control activities, ensuring high-quality patient care, and supervising medical staff. Key Highlights:

  • Directs medical and infection control activities
  • Supervises physicians and nurse practitioners
  • Acts as a resource for infection control and consultant
  • Provides treatment to state hospital employees
  • Participates in audits and performance improvement activities

Requirements include:

  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Residency in Family or Internal Medicine
  • 3 years of clinical or public health experience
  • Texas Medical Board license
  • DEA registration and NPI#

Skills needed:

  • Knowledge of public health practices
  • Skills in patient care and use of medical tools
  • Project management and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities
